Training For Marathon Running

A marathon is a very long race. It is 26.2 miles actually. Seeing how long the marathon is, not anyone can run it without the proper training. Below I will cover some very important components to train for marathon running.

The first component I will cover is equipment. When it comes to equipment you will need a shirt and either shorts or track pants that you can move in freely and also feel comfortable wearing. Next you will want to get a great pair of shoes. Remember when buying your shoes that you will be running 26.2 miles in these so you won’t want to settle cheap. You should look for a shoe that fits nice and snug at all parts of the that also provides you with excellent arch support. Finally you should pick up a good quality water bottle that you can run with.

Secondly I am going to talk about the mental aspect of training for a marathon. Training for a marathon can take up to four long months and this can take quite the toll and the average person. If you are not mentally strong enough to deal with this then you will most likely fail with your training and consequently not run a marathon. If you can find something to keep you motivated throughout your training then you will have a great chance of succeeding.

Now I am going to brief you on training. It is composed of many days of running and this will be something that with proper equipment and motivation you can battle through and end up running and most importantly finishing the big race!
